No Sculpture Classes are Currently Scheduled

Sculpture classes are offered to anyone interested in learning sculpture, from beginner to advanced. They are taught in the atelier tradition with each student working at their own pace on their own project within the same time slot.

Everyone is welcome – no previous experience in sculpture is necessary.

Class Dates and Times

Four classes per month, 2.5 hours each class

Class times each week:

Wednesday: 7PM to 9:30 PM

Sunday: 3PM to 5:30 PM

You will be able to choose which classes to attend, maximum 4 classes per month

Fee

$400/month for new students’ first two months

After 2 months, $350/month

After 6 months, $300/month

If you are a former student, the discount will be based on how many months of classes you have taken previously.

Materials

Sculpture tools and clay will be provided.

Class Format and Outcomes

Classes are structured in the traditional atelier method, where students of all levels work together at their own pace and receive individualized instruction in a supportive atmosphere. Classes are small, with a maximum of 3 students, enabling you to receive extensive feedback and hands-on instruction. This is an unequalled opportunity to study with a professional artist.

Refund Policy

Refunds are only available up to 10 business days before the class starts. A $50 admin fee is applicable to all refunds.

Instructor

Geemon Xin Meng

Geemon Xin Meng is the Director of the Vancouver Sculpture Studio. He is an internationally-recognized professional sculptor working within the tradition of classic, figurative sculpture. After having received a rigorous education at the Fine Art & Design Central Academy of Beijing, he immigrated to Canada in 2004. Geemon became a member of the Sculptors Society of Canada in 2006 and founded the Vancouver Sculpture Studio in Vancouver in 2012. He taught sculpture for 6 years to more than 100 students from more than 10 countries. Geemon became an elected member of the National Sculpture Society (USA) in 2018. With over 30 years of experience as a sculptor, he has worked in a broad range of media creating both figurative and abstract works. Geemon has exhibited his works in Canada, the United States, United Kingdom and China, among other countries.
